I love this little French bistro placed in the heart of Copenhagen, and I have been there more than 20 times. It is very simple but charming - and not expensive at all. My favorite dishes are snails with garlic butter and crepe number 39. I recommend making a reservation since it is quite popular.

This former church is turned into place for community eating. The food is always delicious, and here you have the chance to talk to locals. I eat at Absalon once or twice a month. You just have to show up half past 5 pm, buy tickets, and enjoy the dinner served. It costs 50 Danish kroner.

This is a cheap but very great Vietnamese restaurant in the heart of Copenhagen. The food is fresh, healthy, and delicious. Go for the “Bún Bó Nam BQ” and mix it with the mango drink!

I enjoy spending time at the market place Torvehallerne, which is located right next to Nørreport Station, and offers more than 80 shops. I can recommend the stall “Boutique Fisk” especially for its Danish specialty fish cakes called “fiskefrikadeller”. You should give it a try!

Parks & Nature
As a true Copenhagener, I bike a lot. I often pass The Lakes, and every time I do, I slow down and enjoy the ride. Start by grabbing a coffee near Dronning Louises Bro – you can pass the bridge or hang with the hipsters in the sun. Head to the lakes and then go South or North – whatever you prefer. Walk around one or two lakes.

It is an urban open space in Nørrebro located in the Quarter of Mimersgade. The park is divided into three main areas: The Red Square, The Black Market and The Green Park. Superkilen exudes diversity, and the park will be like a world exhibition filled with interesting things from around the world. Among other things, you can experience a fountain from Morocco or a sculpture from Japan. It is supercool and very ”Copenhagen”.

The “freetown” Christiania is a self-proclaimed autonomous neighborhood of about 850 residents in the middle Copenhagen. It is a lovely place to spend time – especially during spring and summer time. It is placed near the Paper Island and Christianshavn, so you should combine it all.

The Danish parliament, Christiansborg Castle, is my favorite building in the whole city. You should walk by. Furthermore, you can visit the tower as well as the garden behind Christiansborg called “Bibliotekshaven”. I used to work at the Danish parliament back in 2014-2015, and I spent a lot of coffee breaks in “Bibliotekshaven”.
