It’s 1.5 miles between the Steel Bridge and the Hawthorne Bridge. If you continue walking south past OMSI (you have to zig zag at one point around a couple buildings) , for a couple miles, you will reach the entrance to the Oaks Bottom Wildlife Area. (or the Oaks Park Amusement Park on the other side of the path.)
